Hairloss Reversal

Hair loss is an issue that affects men and women. Past treatments for hair loss were often associated with unnatural and laughable results. However, modern hair transplant techniques provide a natural and permanent result for hair loss. Men and women are both equally good candidates for hair transplantation.

What to Expect

Non-surgical hair transplants are done through the extraction of individual hair follicles from an area of the head, typically the back of the head, where little if any evidence that any hair follicles were ever removed. This is very similar to surgical hair transplants, but the non-surgical method has the obvious advantage of no scar at the back of the head. This is the more ideal surgery for those who want to keep their hair very short.

After the hair follicles are extracted, they are prepared for placement into the target site. After they are placed in the target site, the hair follicles usually take 7-10 days to set in and several months for hair to begin growing consistently.

Am I A Better Candidate for a Surgical or Non-Surgical Transplant?

Candidacy for surgical hair transplant or non-surgical hair treatment is an individualized approach. Many people are good responders to non-surgical options, such as Rogaine, Propecia, PRP injections, etc, but none of these options can approach the degree of success that you should expect from a hair transplant procedure.

Recovery is straightforward after a hair transplant. You may have some bruising, bleeding, and swelling. You may even get black eyes. Pain is well managed with oral medications and people do quite well after a hair transplant procedure. Most patients take about a week off work or their regular activities after the hair transplant.

What Will You See Hair Growth?

Hair growth usually begins at about 3 months and we typically have a good idea about the result at around six months. However, we do not have an idea about the overall success of the procedure for around 18 months. The hair follicles take this long to recover and get back in sync.

Will I Need To Come Back For More Transplants Or Are The Results Permanent?

The results of a hair transplant procedure is permanent. The follicles that survive transplantation will stay in place forever and produce hair forever. This is due to the fact that the hair follicles that are transplanted are immune to the normal causes of hair loss. The exception to the above rule is if there is something out of the ordinary, such as a medication, medical condition, or treatment, which can affect the growth and health of the hair follicles. The new follicles that are transplanted will not be immune from those issues.
