Adam’s Apple Reduction
Reduction THYROID CARTILAGE
The thyroid cartilage, also known as the Adam’s apple, is the most prominent part of the male throat and is associated with a masculine appearance. It can be reduced with a short surgical procedure.
What to expect
The Procedure
The procedure, which typically takes less than an hour, can be done under sedation or general anesthesia. A small incision is made in one of the neck creases and the cartilage is reduced. Dr. Ward uses a technique that he developed to provide optimal results for Adam’s apple reduction.
The Recovery
The bruising and swelling after the procedure is typically minimal and patients can return to work in about 5-7 days and resume regular activities after 1-2 weeks.
